Marvin Wladis (March 28, 1921 – January 22, 2013)

R.I.P. Marvin Wladis (March 28, 1921 - January 22, 2013)

Today the world lost a great man, my grandfather, Marvin Wladis. Marshu (as we affectionately called him) enjoyed 91 beautiful years of life and 65 blissful years of marriage to his wife, Rosalyn (or, Rozzie, as we fondly call her). He raised four loving children and endeared himself to twelve grandchildren.

In order to commemorate Marshu, I would like to dedicate a song to him. While I could have picked any number of sad songs, I instead decided to go with “Fallen” by Lauren Wood.

Why this whimsical one-hit wonder you ask?

Because Marshu had a not-so-guilty love of the Julia Robert’s movie, “Pretty Woman,” from which this song appeared. Every time I hear this song it makes me think of Marshu and chuckle… and that’s the way he would have wanted it.

So to Marshu, I dedicate this song to you; I hope you’re listening. May you rest in peace.

Love always,

Brett
